Abstract Paintings

Abstract art in its purest form is without a recognizable subject and doesn't relate to anything or try to imitate anything. Instead the color,materials,support and form are the subject.

A further distinction tends to be made between geometric and fluid abstract art.

Generally figurative abstractions are classified with abstract art. Usually they represent things that aren't visual, such as emotion, sound, or spiritual experiences. Figurative abstractions are abstractions or simplifications of reality. Only the essence of an object is left and most of the details are taken away so it leaves a vaguely recognizable entity.
